Manchester United set to give Louis van Gaal more time

Ed Woodward is ready to defy an avalanche of public opinion and back Louis van Gaal to survive as Manchester United manager.

Woodward, the Old Trafford giants’ executive vice chairman, is adamant the Dutchman retains his absolute backing.

That stance will astonish United fans, but it reflects the political turmoil engulfing the club.
While outsiders may believe Van Gaal is a dead man walking, Woodward is fighting to save his job.
