Transfer News and Rumours Today

Townsend Arsenal have made a fresh bid to sign Leicester's highly-rated teenage left-back Ben Chilwell , who has also been a target for Liverpool and Manchester City. MAN UTD RISK LOSING PEREIRA

Andreas Pereira says  Manchester United must play him more – or risk losing him. The Brazilian youngster has long been tipped for the top and made his senior debut in August 2014, but has since found first-team opportunities hard to come by. He has largely been restricted to outings in the League Cup and has made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League under  Louis van Gaal . Pereira  insists he is committed to the United cause but says the lack of game time is an issue for him, not least because he has ambitions of making Brazil’s squad for the Olympic football tournament in Rio. The 20-year-old says he is aware of interest from other teams, but that he doesn’t know whether there are  plans for him to go out on loan  like fellow starlets Adnan Januzaj and James Wilson. "I’m a United player, [but] I’ve seen in the press that there are various other clubs interested,” he told GloboEsporte. “I don’t know if United want to loan me out but I’m working hard to get

LIVERPOOL SET TO SNATCH TEIXEIRA FROM CHELSEA

Reds chief Ian Ayre flew out to Florida this week where the attacking midfielder’s club Shaktar Dontesk are currently holding a mid-season training camp. And the Anfield MD will attempt to negotiate a deal, with the Ukraine club indicating they are ready to talk with a starting asking price of closer to £40m. Liverpool have tracked the 26 year old for more than 18 months, and new boss Jurgen Klopp has given the green light to the deal as he searches for more goals from his side. He has scored an incredible 26 goals in just 25 games for his club side this season, and that has brought him to the attention of the Brazil national side, with a call up predicted this year. He joined Shaktar in 2010 from his first club Vasco da Gama for a fee of around £5m, and has become a star in the Ukraine. OGENYI ONAZI TO SWANSEA CITY

Reports in the Italian media have linked Swansea City  with a move for Lazio's holding midfielder Ogenyi Onazi according to Wales online. The 23-year-old has apparently been admired by Francesco Guidolin since the Italian's time in charge of Udinese. Onazi made his debut in 2012 and has since gone on to make 73 league appearances for Lazio, also part of the side that lifted the 2012-13 Coppa Italia. The reports claim Swansea are preparing a 5m Euro bid, but may have to lift it to 7m if they are to convince the Rome-based club to sell. Onazi, meanwhile, is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League, frustrated by a lack of starts and playing time. I would jump at the chance to play in the Premier League,” the Nigerian previously said on a wanting a move to England. He has started just six Serie A games so far this term. The holding midfielder is also an experienced international, with 36 caps and one goal.

Chelsea and Tottenham could share Wembley in 2017-18

Tottenham Hotspur have matched Chelsea’s offer to make Wembley their temporary home in a bid that could result in the London rivals sharing the national stadium for one season. Chelsea were hopeful of securing exclusivity of Wembley while Stamford Bridge is redeveloped by submitting a four-year bid, thought to be worth around £15million-a-season, that would have left Spurs facing the prospect of moving to Milton Keynes for the 2017-18 campaign. But Tottenham have responded by matching Chelsea’s offer for one season and there is growing optimism that may be enough to convince the Football Association to inform the Blues that they will have to share Wembley if they need to relocate in the summer of 2017. A deal to house both Tottenham and Chelsea could earn the FA as much as £75m in total and would prevent any accusations of favouritism or unfair treatment. Tottenham have always been open to the prospect of sharing Wembley and have pushed their case with the FA, but have not negotiat

Manchester United's Louis van Gaal pondering quitting at the end of THIS season

Louis van Gaal   is, apparently, considering quitting as Manchester United manager at the end of the season despite having another year on his contract. After coming in for  repeated criticism for his brand of "boring" and "defensive" football from commentators including former United midfielder Paul Scholes, the Dutchman is ready to throw the towel in. If, that is, we are to believe the latest report in the  Mirror . Despite the lack of quotes from Van Gaal himself, the club or anybody connected with the club, the report claims that his family want him to walk away from the high-pressure job after they have become increasingly concerned over the 64-year-old's health and wellbeing. Should Van Gaal jump – or, indeed, be pushed – then the out-of-work Jose Mourinho would be installed as the favourite to accede the former Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Holland manager.

EDEN HAZARD SET TO RETURN AGAINST ARSENAL

Eden Hazard is poised to make his return from a groin injury against  Arsenal  on Sunday. The  Chelsea  forward has missed the last three matches with a groin injury sustained in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on January 3. The Belgium international trained with the squad for the first time since the injury on Friday and will resume full training this week Hazard’s return to fitness will come as a major boost to Guus Hiddink ahead of the London derby against Arsene Wenger’s men. The Blues will monitor Hazard closely this week and will not take any chances with his fitness despite the magnitude of Sunday’s clash. Likewise, with Euro 2016 approaching, Hazard will be eager not to cause any lasting damage to his groin this week. But if the forward comes through this week unscathed; then he is likely to be included in the squad to that travels to the Emirates Stadium. Meanwhile, Chelsea are in talks over a move for Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato. The 26-year-old is emerging as a

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet signs new contract extension until 2021

Simon Mignolet has signed a new contract extension at Liverpool keeping him at  Anfield until at least 2021. The Belgium international has come under-fire this season and speculation had been rife that Jurgen Klopp could look to replace him. But the German has kept faith with the 27-year-old and offered him improved terms on his previous deal.  It's been far from easy for Mignolet, who joined the club for £9millon from Sunderland in 2013, as he struggled in his early days at Anfield. He made a mistake during the draw with West Brom back in December, prompting Klopp to come out and publicly support him. 'I'm very pleased that I can be at Anfield and a part of Liverpool for a long future. I'm happy to commit my future to LFC,' Mignolet, 27, told Liverpoolfc.com . 'I know signing a new contract comes with new responsibility. I'm getting older as well and coming into the years where people would say those are the years a 'keeper is at his best.

FIFA  STILL PAYS SEPP BLATTER'S SALARY

Blatter was suspended for 90 days  by FIFA on October 8 and then banned from the game for eight years last month. The 79-year-old was banned for ethics violations over a $2 million payment FIFA made to  European football boss Michel Platini  with Blatter's approval in 2011. But it was  revealed by Reuters  that Blatter, a Swiss national who has been president of FIFA since 1998, will continue to be paid until a new president is elected on February 26. That means Blatter would have been paid for nearly five months during which time he was unable to carry out his duties, and a period in which FIFA has appointed an acting president, African soccer head Issa Hayatou. The compensation sub-committee of FIFA's Audit and Compliance Committee recently ruled that it could stop Blatter's bonuses but not, according to his contract, his salary. He has signed an initial contract with Swansea until the end of the 2015-16 campaign, with his long-term future to be discussed at the end of the season. Bolton Wanderers avoid immediate winding-up order

Bolton Wanderers have been granted a stay of execution after being told they will avoid an immediate winding-up order. The taxman and other creditors had taken Bolton to the High Court in a bid to force the crisis-hit Championship to pay off some of their debts. Bolton  would have been forced to go into voluntary administration if the case had gone against them, triggering a 12-point deduction would have condemned them to League One next season. Instead the High Court have told Bolton they have until February 22 to either seal a deal with new buyers for the club or raise the necessary funds through the sale of players and other assets. Advisor to the owner and board Trevor Birch, said: "HMRC takes a very strict approach towards football clubs. "Despite the club putting forward a solution, utilising funds generated from its assets that would have enabled repayment of its debt in full over a period of a few months, HMRC refused to agree to an adjournment to give effect to
