Daniel Sturridge is ready to quit Liverpool this summer.

Striker Sturridge is desperate to get back to his best at club level and for England afterhis injury nightmare, and fears he may have to leave Anfield for the good of his career.

The Reds' boss Jurgen Klopp has voiced his frustrations both privately and publicly and Sturridge believes it could be time for a fresh start.

There would be no shortage of interest in the 26-year-old despite the problems that have limited him to 19 appearances last season and just six so far in the current campaign, because he is still regarded as one of the most talented players of his generation.

His previous club, Chelsea, could be interested while the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham are after a top-class striker.

Sturridge, 26, is fed-up with the public criticism of his desire to play and is desperate for a chance to get back to playing football.

It has been a nightmare 18 months plagued by injuries but he is now back in training, feels sharp and there are no fitness doubts in his mind.

England manager Roy Hodgson believes Sturridge is his most naturally gifted striker and a big part of the player’s reasoning is to get himself back to his best for his country.

Sturridge led England’s attack at the last World Cup 18 months ago, and Hodgson is desperate for him to be fit for Euro 2016 this summer.

But Klopp’s remarks about Sturridge’s fitness are affecting the striker when no-one is more desperate to play than him.

Sturridge signed a five-year contract worth £140,000-a-week in 2014 but this summer is likely to be decisive for his future.
