Leicester have offered £15million plus add-ons for Deeney

Deeney
Leicester have offered £15million plus add-ons for Deeney, who performed impressively for Watford last season with 15 goals in all competitions.
Troy Deeney wants to join Leicester after seeing a £20million bid rejected from the champions. But the Watford striker is caught in the middle of a transfer battle with the Hornets insisting he is not for sale.

Watford are prepared to dig their heels in as they feel they have stood have stood by the 27-year-old marksman - even after he was sent to prison four years ago.

He now wants to play Champions League football under Claudio Ranieri, but Watford feel that with four years left on his contract they are under no pressure to sell. They have also handed Deeney new contracts in each of the last three seasons.

The club would have to pay Deeney’s former club Walsall 25 per cent over any fee above £500,000 and as such are not willing to sacrifice a player that they feel has improved for them every year since his arrival in 2010.

Leicester are battling to hold on to England striker Jamie Vardy as Arsenal have triggered his £22m sell-on clause.
