Manchester United preparing €100m bid for Paul Pogba

Manchester United may have to pay a British record £78million for Paul Pogba - four years after losing him for just £800,000.

Juventus want to start a bidding war for Pogba and believe the France star is worth 100m euros (£78million).

This is nearly 100 times the amount of compensation United received from Juventus when Pogba left on a Bosman in 2012, angry at his lack of first-team opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson.

But they are prepared to bankroll the deal because Jose Mourinho wants to rebuild United's midfield around him.
Mourinho is a big admirer of Pogba and tried to sign him last summer for Chelsea, as did Manchester City who refused to pay Juventus's £71million asking price.
 Juve's chief executive Giuseppe Marotta warned then that Pogba's price would only increase, saying "in the future, he could be worth more than 100million euros".
United have been encouraged by City's reluctance to rekindle their interest and feel they are the leading Premier League club in the race to land Pogba.
However he is known to prefer La Liga and a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid because he wants to experience a different culture.

United also cannot offer Champions League football, while Barca and Real have shared the trophy over the last three seasons.

Chelsea Football Club's medical team says Kurt Zouma could be out for six months

Kurt Chelsea Football Club's medical team have diagnosed that  Kurt Zouma  sustained an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament during yesterday’s (Sunday) Premier League game against Manchester United. Kurt will undergo surgery in the next 48 hours and is expected to be out for approximately six months.
