EVERTON SACKS ROBERTO MARTINEZ

Roberto Martinez axed Everton have confirmed they have sacked manager  Roberto Martinez  after a disastrous season. The Toffees began the campaign dreaming of a top four finish but have ended it languishing in mid-table. After a reasonable start to 2015/16 Everton have been in steady decline with an alarming sense of apathy creeping into the squad in recent months. The form of players such as John Stones - who was close to a £40million move to Chelsea last summer - has been particularly worrying for the Everton board, who were left with little choice but to part ways with Martinez.

Mats Hummels says he is losing sleep over his future

Borussia Dortmund and Germany World Cup-winning defender Mats Hummels says he is losing sleep over his future . Hummels, 27, still has another season left on his contract but has been linked with several clubs. Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester Unitedand Liverpool are all reportedly interested. "It's been taking me at least half an hour extra to fall asleep for several weeks now because this is such a big issue for me," said Hummels. Hummels has secured two Bundesliga titles since joining Dortmund permanently from Bayern Munich in 2009 after an initial loan move. He played in the 2014 World Cup final in Brazil when Germany defeated Argentina 1-0. His father and agent, Hermann Hummels, says a return to Bayern is not out of the question. "Mats is facing an enormously important decision in his career, in his life," he added. "If he were to leave Dortmund, then he could only go to five or six top clubs, and of course Bayern are one of them....

BARCELONA LOSES AGAIN! FCB 1- 2 VAL

Barcelona lose again, and have taken just one point from their last four league games. They are still top, on head-to-head record, but Atletico are level and Real a point behind. The team who were unbeaten for months now can’t stop losing. There are five games remaining in what has suddenly turned into a helluva title race. 

UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE SEMI FINAL DRAW

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will face Spanish side Villarreal in the UEFA Europa league second semi final tie. This  will be the first ever meeting between the two clubs in the UEFA Europa League. In the first semi final tie, Shakhtar Donetsk will face UEFA Europa League holders Sevilla. The two sides met in the last 16 in 2007 – Sevilla won 5-4 on aggregate on route to the title. The semi-finals will be played April 28 and May 5 while the final at St. Jakob-Park, Basel will be played on Wednesday May 18.

UCL SEMI FINAL DRAW

  The UCL semi final draw has been decided – First legs:  26 April: Manchester City v Real Madrid 27 April: Atlético Madrid v Bayern München Second legs: 3 May: Bayern München v Atlético Madrid 4 May: Real Madrid v Manchester City Man City coach Manuel Pellegrini come up against his former side Madrid while Atletico Madrid lock horns against Bayern Munich,  a repeat of the 1974 final. In the other semi final, Barcelona nemesis, Atletico Madrid lock horns against Bayern Munich,  a repeat of the 1974 final. T he Bundesliga side ran out 4-0 winners in the replay following an initial 1-1 draw.

Jake Clarke-Salter is John Terry's long-term replacement in Blues defence?

The 18-year-old defender made his first-team debut against Aston Villa last month and John Terry says he reminds him of himself. Terry believes highly-rated defender Jake Clarke-Salter will eventually take his place in the Chelsea team. The academy defender, 18, made his professional debut at Aston Villa last month and has a huge reputation at the club. Terry was the last graduate of the Chelsea youth team to hold down a regular place in the first team. But the 35-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season. He has now tipped Clarke-Salter to become his successor. Clarke-Salter was given a four-year deal in November and has been spoken of in glowing terms by both Guus Hiddink and his predecessor Jose Mourinho .
